The ability to correctly predict the behavior of lithium ion batteries is critical for safety, performance, cost and lifetime. Particularly important this purpose prediction internal temperature cells, because positive feedback between heat generation current distribution. In work, a comprehensive electro-thermal model developed cylindrical lithium-ion cell. comprehensively parameterized validated with experimental data 2170 cells (LG M50T, NMC811), including direct core measurements. used study different cell designs cooling approaches their effects on Increasing number tabs connecting jellyroll base cylindrical-can reduces thermal gradient by up 25.41%. On its own, side more effective than at removing heat, yet both result in gradients within similar magnitude, irrespective tabs. results are immediate interest manufacturers battery pack designers, while modelling parameterization framework created an essential tool energy storage system design.
